Dr. Golnar Raissi
Dr. Raissi is a licensed naturopathic physician who specializes in integrative medicine and a member of the Columbia University Cystic Fibrosis center in Stamford, CT.
Dr. Raissi has been trained in both medical nutrition at Columbia University and clinical mental health. She has experience working on a spectrum of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression and self-esteem awareness. Her focus is on prevention, education and self-care.
Dr. Raissi offers effective, scientifically proven and evidence based complementary therapies to address underlying dysfunction and develop appropriate strategies to address individual’s health by enhancing their nutritional intake and improving their mental health.
During the past 10 years that Dr. Raissi has been prescribing food as medicine, she has tried to encourage and to empower individuals to understand where, what and how food should be consumed in order to preserve health and wellness to cope with modern stressful life demands.
Dr. Raissi is a member of the Columbia University Cystic Fibrosis Center and co-founder of the CF (Cystic Fibrosis) Bridge of Hope not-for-profit entity. The CF Bridge of Hope entity was established in 2012 to help underserved children afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis in different areas of the world, where treatment and access to CF health and support services is not readily available. As a result, Dr. Raissi has in-depth experience working with patients with cystic fibrosis and other chronic diseases.
Dr. Raissi has been fortunate to work with underserved populations in this country and globally, which has allowed her to incorporate multicultural concepts into each case. Cultural awareness is an integral component of inpatient care, as it influences relationships and interactions. Through her work, Dr. Raissi strives to foster a safe environment where patients can share their stories, gain insight into how that has impacted them, and create a new reality that is more fulfilling.
Dr. Raissi is an organizer of the Muslim Community group in CT that facilitates weekly lectures, seminars and group discussions on diverse topics including spirituality and interfaith. As an active member of the Wilton Clergy Association, Dr. Raissi cherishes the learnings and discussions among diverse faith groups and the ability to unite everyone under the same mission of peace and commonality.
During her free time, Dr. Raissi loves to go on long walks in nature to meditate, works on her vegetable garden, reads non-fiction books and socializes with friends and family.
